The High Mountain Symbol
The town of North Haledon sits in view of Bergen County’s High Mountain range. In addition to linking the new medical practice by name to the area’s most prominent geological landmark, the High Mountain also inspired a higher level of medical care for the region. The High Mountain Health brand was born.

Our History

High MountainNorth Haledon's High Mountain

High Mountain Health was founded in 1998 by Drs. David Rasa, Peter Carrazzone and Charles Whang. The founding principle behind High Mountain Health was to offer a higher level of care than patients expected.

Built on the foundation of Family Medicine, the vision was to offer comprehensive, convenient healthcare program that treated the patients and their families as individuals with complex medical needs.

The scope of Family Medicine was expanded to serve the particular needs of men, women and children. Guided by a view of medical excellence, the practice included the latest Radiology and Women’s Health diagnostics and also Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine and Pediatrics.

In response to the daily needs and stresses of family life, High Mountain Health offered appointments when patients needed them. Living in neighborhoods where many people commute to the city, patients soon came to appreciate the flexibility of evening and weekend office hours.

Multiple locations were added and an investment in a system of electronic medical records allowed High Mountain Health doctors immediate access to a patient’s file, regardless of the office they visited.

High Mountain Health is proud of its achievements over 12 years, serving the residents of Bergen and Passaic counties in New Jersey. As we embark on our second decade of treating patients and their family members we will continue to be guided by the pursuit of medical excellence and the passion of finding new ways to take the practice of healthcare to the next level.
